Founded in 1978, the Irish National Sailing and Powerboat School, based in Dun Laoghaire, is a leading training facility in sailing and powerboats. It’s a busy successful school, with an experienced and enthusiastic team of full-time instructors, offering courses on the water throughout the year.
The school offers many courses for both total beginners and experienced sailors. Courses for children over the school holidays are particularly popular. Powerboat training at all levels is provided also, on a wide variety of craft owned by the School.
Key Considerations
The requirement was for an eCommerce site to enable students and parents of children to book and pay for courses online. There was a wide variety of courses and limited availability for many therefore the need to highlight “Spaces Left” had to be automated.
The project evolved into a digitisation process, automating many tasks in terms of managing processes e.g. the completion of medical forms and parental permission, via the website. This automation process is ongoing and work is currently being undertaken on the reporting functionality.
