Digital Dun Laoghaire – It’s a wrap for 2019
Great meeting this morning and lots to learn from Digital Dun Laoghaire. Looking towards 2020 we discussed what’s coming down the tracks – with a special emphasis on what SME’s should do to stay on top of tech. Main takeaways I picked up on for businesses
- Don’t feel over-whelmed; we are in this tech whirlwind together; try to read for one hour a
week to keep abreast of what’s coming down the tracks
- For anyone involved in hospitality or who has complex scheduling to do for shift workers, try this app which allows the employer to set the shifts that need to be filled and the workers to set their availability; then the app does the schedule – wheniwork.com
- Voice search is the next big thing; the way people optimise their websites for text search e.g. in google will be very different from what needs to be done for voice search e.g. Alexa.
- People are literally living their lives online so we need to get our heads around how to connect with them via their online life; which actually is their life!
I was lucky enough to share the Panel with 3 experts who gave useful practical advice including some useful links – here ye go
